Data logging of the internal environment
Complete Preservation have their own laboratory for analysis of mortar samples for moisture content and hygroscopic salt content. We also offer microscopic timber analysis for identification. We grow dry rot and many wet rots, samples can be provided for educational purposes but are mainly used for training the dry rot search dogs and training we provide (CPD’S).
Timber resin repairs
Timber resin repairs are used to repair mainly large historic timbers that have suffered long term decay and infestation, this is a sympathetic repair that can save considerable amounts of money on historic buildings and plaster/cornice.
Woodworm identification and treatment
The identification of the specific type of woodworm and also if it is actually active needs to be carried out by a suitably qualified or competent person, before any treatment is recommended.
Dry rot and wet rot identification and repair
The identification of the specific type of rot needs to carried out by a suitably qualified or competent person, before any treatment is recommended. All rots require moisture, simply removing the moisture maybe enough to cure the problem if the area can be dried down quickly. Dry rot investigations may require a destructive survey to identify the extent of the outbreak, we use high powered boroscopes from 6mm in size for the minimum interference with the building fabric along with thermal imaging.
